Essential Oils in pregnancy. Are they safe?
As an essential oil enthusiast, I offer a course on how to use oils during and after pregnancy. In this course you will learn what oils are safe, what to avoid, and specific blends for things like restful sleep and discomfort.
Essential Oils for Beginners
DoTERRA Essential oils website describes it best:
“Essential oils are amazing! They have the ability to support your well-being. However, they can be hard to explain at times. Essential oils are natural and come from plants. They smell good and can be used to help your wellness. But what else can you say about them? Beyond that, there’s a lot to learn and understand about oils.”
My course offers an introduction to oils, and how they can work with you for a comfortable pregnancy.
As a general rule of thumb, USE YOUR INTUITION. If it doesn’t feel right or if you can’t pronounce it, stay away from it. This course is not a part of the Joyful Birth Package and is not included as apart of my birth doula service. However, I host a monthly online course via zoom to educate on oils during labor support. A private course is always available if you are unable to miss the monthly class.
Sneak Peek: Tip 1
One of the most commonly used essential oils in pregnancy is Peppermint! This oil has the potential to be a powerhouse healer for nausea, headaches, and congestion. Simply apply with a carrier oil to the area of concern. After pregnancy, if you plan to breastfeed, peppermint could potentially decrease your milk supply. Consider talking with your provider before use of anything product, including oils, during pregnancy.
