Other than the obvious there are several beneficial uses for breastmilk!
To use breastmilk in the following ways: you can hand express the milk into your other hand or a clean container and apply it to your baby. You can also used frozen or pumped milk.
Baby acne – sensitive skin and hormones play a role in the cause of the tiny red bumps we sometimes find on our baby’s skin. The anti-inflammatory properties of breastmilk can help soothe and heal baby skin!
Diaper rash – Research shows that breastmilk is as effective as using a steroid to treat a diaper rash. The plus side of using milk is that it is all natural and free of cost!
Cracked nipples – Whether it be from the baby or a pump, rubbing breastmilk where it comes from can be incredibly healing!
Milk bath – Pour a bag of defrosted or fresh milk into baby’s bath to treat any skin issues. Eczema, dry skin, cradle cap, bug bites, diaper rash, acne, basically anything! This is a great way to use expired frozen milk, as long as it doesn’t smell funky – you can still use it to treat skin issues with your baby or toddler.
Teething – You can make breastmilk popsicles using popsicles molds (amazon!) to provide pain relief!
