I spend a lot of time getting to know the needs, wants, concerns, and fears of the partner too. They also need support! Watching the one you love endure childbirth can be overwhelming. It can even be a little anxiety producing if you aren’t educated or prepared. I make reading recommendations and offer education to the partner so that they feel calm, cool, and confident when the big day arrives. I also teach them how to conduct comfort measures so that they are heavily involved in this beautiful process, if they want to be. Not all partners want to be active birth partners and thats OK, but hiring a doula should be heavily considered if this is the case.
Everyone deserves support in childbirth.
Having a doula present at your birth means that you and your partner will be fully emotionally and physically supported!
One of my favorite things to do is offer stress balls to the partner when things ramp up… it helps relieve some of the anxious energy!
